    Hi all,

I am a newbie to ModX and am working on using it to build a small business website for a friend. One component he wants is to have a 'members-only' page that will authenticate users against an external (non-ModX) MS SQL Server database. I'd like to use PDO for this, just for portability and protection against SQL injection. In looking at the PDO drivers for my instance of ModX (I'm on version 2.3.2), I only see "mysql, pgsql, sqlite" - nothing for MS SQL Server. Does this mean it is not possible to use xPDO with that type of DB?

Having read through the documentation on xPDO, my head is spinning a bit. If it is possible to connect to MS SQL Server, if someone could help guide me through how I would do that, I would really, really appreciate it. Even the "Bob's Guides" version was a bit hard for me to grasp though I'm sure it's clear for someone more experienced with ModX.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,

Ian [ed. note: iboersma last edited this post 11 years, 10 months ago.]
