  • We are looking for a freelancer to take on some of the more basic sections of work as we are expanding. Strictly no agencies/middle men please!

The ideal applicant would be required to build part of a site to .AI/.PDF/.PSD files, to produce good, clean semantic code, and would have a good understanding of the MODX core principles of chunks, TV's and templates. This is an ideal opportunity for someone to work on some great projects, and increase there knowledge of the MODX platform!

Location isn't a problem, we would just expect good communication, be it through IM/skype/email, however we would like any one messaging us that is interested to match the following criteria:

    HTML Skills
    - Understanding of responsive design, and basic UI considerations
    - Experience/Understanding of building in a responsive framework (Skeleton/Bootstrap preferred)
    - LESS/SASS (not required but desirable)

    MODX Skills
    - Experience of 2.2+ with some examples
    - Comfortable with getResources, Wayfinder, MIGX (TV), FormIt (not required but willing to learn)
    - Good understanding of chunks/tv's/templates and how to use them properly (re-use that content!)

More information about the way we work is available on request, but in a nutshell, we have a base core package that would be installed prior to any work commencing, so that means you can get stuck straight in with the fun stuff!

Please drop me a PM directly, or email me [email protected]

Again, strictly no agencies/middle men please. I'd love to get someone on board that is keen on the MODX platform, and wants the opportunity to learn more and hone there skills through a constant stream of good projects.

Many thanks [ed. note: gelstudios last edited this post 9 years, 4 months ago.]

    • You would provide the .AI/.PDF/.PSD files?

I like Skeleton as well as Kickstart, although yesterday I adapted this template using Zurb Foundation 5 for a Cloud site for working with SimpleCart. Too bloated for my tastes, you have at least three or four layers of divs to do anything. Reminds me too much of ExtJS.

Completely agree, we use Skeleton as its a CSS grid only, and, its very light weight (just a CSS file!) everything we do is bespoke, so we don't need a foundation such as bootstrap/zurb to set styles to deviate from, as we make everything from the ground up!

        • What would the workload be likely to be? One a week? More?

I'll be honest, it would most likely be one/two a month, with a decent amount of time allocated to each project.

Thats why I said that I feel this would be a great opportunity for someone with web development skills, but looking to get into the MODX platform more seriously, time to try out new things and ways of doing it, with some breathing room for delivery.

If things go well, involvement in more aspects of our projects is on the table too smiley
