I’m using MODx 0.9.6.1 and the WebSignup snippet. The password recovery feature has some problems in IE. When you enter an email address and click submit, there is no alert notifying you that the new password has been sent. Usually, however, it does actually send the email. Then when you click on the link to activate the new password, the activation doesn’t work. I have noticed that the link has & instead of the regular ampersand. Could this be the problem?
Mines working in IE7 & IE5.5 (my version of IE6 is broke at the moment)
I get up pop up alert saying I’ve been sent an email when requesting a new password.
The activation link works from the email and another pop up alert says I’ve successfully activated when I get to the web page.
Sounds like something in your set up, rather than a bug with WebSignup snippet.
Why does the "Forgot Password?" work differently sometimes? For instance, I clicked it and the email I received said "You login details" in the subject line and the activation link said /index.php?id=12&service=activate&userid=7092&activationkey=n2pz8YLF53
and then after doing it a second time, the subject line said New Password Activation for *sitename* and the activation link was /index.php?id=2&webloginmode=actp&wli=7092&wlk=PAtMAVRC
Why is it different?
I only receive the second version "New Password Activation for My Domain"
Do you have WebSignup running on the same page and it’s posting the data as well?
Just a thought.
Ah, that might be it. Thanks.
