Hello all, first, I am new to the forum but I have been using your tips and solutions with my MODx Revo projects for a few months now and they are fantastic.
My problem is this - I built a site for a client in MODx 2.3.1 a few months ago. I told them that I have never installed MODx on IIS7 before and wasn't sure I could get it to work. They told me to proceed building on my Linux server and they would move it over later. I've been done for some time and cannot help them move the site over. PHP and MySql have been installed on their server (MS 2008). Since I cannot move the site over as it is, my next try is to install MODx to the server directly. I created a sqlsrv database, which does not have a username or password or table prefix. Leaving those fields blank on the install, it says it connects to server, however it cannot create the database and I need to create one manually to continue. This happens even if I list the name of the database created in the sqlsrv manager. Any thoughts?
Next I tried leaving everything blank, except the host, and the install runs with no problems until the very end when it tells me that the install failed because it could not unpack core.transport.zip package. Make sure it exists and that core/packages directory is writable.
The site works great where it is but they want it on their platform and will not host anywhere else. I should say their current website is being hosted on this server as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.
