Yikes!
I just setup a new manager user and gave them limited admin functions, edit/create documents and no security functions. Now my default admin ID (that’s me) has the same limited functions. I can no longer access all of the manager admin functions.
I searched the forum and found the tutorial if locked out, but that’s not my problem. I can login, I just can’t access all the admin functions.
I presume I have to access the DB via myphpadmin to reset my access. Based on what I read in the tutorial, I browsed around looking for something that might control this, but I’m a little over my head here.
I could really use some help here. Thank you!

Sorry for the false alarm. . .
Turns out I switched roles between me and the new manager user (not sure how. . . ) I logged in as the new user, who now had admin role assigned and switched them back. So I’m good to go.
However, I have a question.
Does the admin role automatically switch to another manager user if the admin role is changed? Could I have changed both manager users to have limited access?
What would I do if the new manager role and the admin role was limited? How would I have retrieved my access?

I wasn’t aware that the first admin account created could change their role from 1, but after some testing you can >:(
If it does ever happen you would need to gain access to the database (with phpmyadmin or something like that) and make the relevant change to prefix_user_attributes or connect to the database and do:
UPDATE `my_db`.`prefix_user_attributes` SET `role` = '1' WHERE `modx_user_attributes`.`id` =1 LIMIT 1 ;
which would set the first ever created account back to the original settings.

Thanks for the instructions to correct this. I could see that setting in the DB, but didn’t know how to make the update or if changing it directly would affect something else. I’ll file that away for future reference.
So I presume your testing indicated that when you change the admin role from 1, it doesn’t automatically assign it to someone else as a failsafe?
