I’m using 0.9.6.1. I want to disable Quick Edit (I find it annoying). I’ve gone to Modules -> Manage Modules -> QuickEdit and selected ’Module disabled’, and it’s showing as such in the table of modules, but the QuickEdit gizmos still show up (and still bump things around the page in that annoying way).
Is there anything else I need to do to stop it showing up on the front end?

Yes, Resources->Plugins->Quickedit and disable plugin. The plugin is actually the part that makes the editor show up on the front end.
