    Hi, Modx Revolution-noobie here with my first Revo.
    I'm facing multiple problems (context related) with Revolution.
    I'm creating multilingual pages (hosted from some cheapest provider(server windows something)), chose Revolution for I read it would be better for this case and Microsoft SQL support.
    Chose Babel for this multilingual.

    Problems I'm facing are:
    1. Copying Contex, copy isnt complete, having only few pages of approximately 50-60pages. On first copy I got 50%, and manually added rest, and third copy got only 7 pages (part of navigation).
    2. Most (60%) of the second context pages are blank, also in original 'web'-context new pages to root is blank. In other words I cant create new pages to front-end.
    3. I cant find solution to this, error log doesnt show anything. So I dont have any hints about this.

    All other "blank page-errors" are concerning installation or back-end when I google it.
    Feels I'm exceeded some page limit or memory limit.

    I really hope somebody could guide me on this, I fear this doesnt discourage me from moving to revo from evo but at the moment I feel like:
    "Shouldnt have moved from good old Evolution. Shouldnt have moved from good old apache server."
    Really desperate and might be I'm missing something stupid and simple, so any suggestion is welcome.

    -Mike

    PS. sorry for bad language skills, english isnt my native language.

      The deck is stacked against you when you add together multiple contexts, IIS, MS SQL, and a cheap shared server. wink

      As to your specific problem, I wonder if you're hitting PHP's default 30-second time limit for script execution. Copying a context is a pretty heavy operation.

      If you ask the host, they may be willing to increase your max_execution_time.

        Hi BobRay!
        Thanks for your response!

        I contacted my host and he said my max_execution_time is 120, and he corrected me that the SQL is indeed mySQL, instead MS SQL (which I thought they installed).
        I updated my modx to lastest version and hoped it would work out the problem, but problems still exists.
        There is a silverlining in it thought, now error-log started to work.

        This example is from trying to copy russian context:
        [2014-12-04 09:59:31] (ERROR @ /connectors/context/index.php) Error HY000 executing statement:
        INSERT INTO `modx_site_content` (`type`, `contentType`, `pagetitle`, `longtitle`, `description`, `alias`, `link_attributes`, `published`, `pub_date`, `unpub_date`, `parent`, `isfolder`, `introtext`, `content`, `richtext`, `template`, `menuindex`, `searchable`, `cacheable`, `createdby`, `createdon`, `editedby`, `editedon`, `deleted`, `deletedon`, `deletedby`, `publishedon`, `publishedby`, `menutitle`, `donthit`, `privateweb`, `privatemgr`, `content_dispo`, `hidemenu`, `class_key`, `context_key`, `content_type`, `uri`, `uri_override`, `hide_children_in_tree`, `show_in_tree`) VALUES ('document', 'text/html', 'Контакты', '', 'Contact information', '', '', 1, 0, 0, 675, 1, '', '', 1, 15, 9, 1, 1, 2, 1417679971, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1389264900, 3, 'Контакты', 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 'modDocument', 'ru2', 1, 'ðšð¾ð½ñ‚ð°ðºñ‚ñ‹/', 0, 0, 1)
        Array
        (
            [0] => HY000
            [1] => 1366
            [2] => Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9A\xF0\xBE\xF0\xBD...' for column 'uri' at row 1
        )

        (tried to attach whole error.log to attachment, but bugged I guess but here is link for it: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/70886483/error.log,
        this is error log from copying context)

        Because of my freshness concerning modx, I dont know what this means, but it seems there is some problem between sql and modx.
        (Or modx way of handling russian language/cyrillic letters)

        I tried google this problem, but only thing I matched is if sql isnt utf-8,
        but I have both modx and sql utf-8.

        Still the problem of blank pages is weird problem, because it doesnt give out errors.

          Will this narrow possible reasons, that I think this problem wasnt when I was in development.mydomain.com,
          but after publishing it to www.mydomain.com.

          Resource tree works very oddly, if I make russian language page in web-context, it shows the blank page, unless I put it in folder which I have had from the beginning. then it shows.
          *edit* Here is picture to illuminate problem https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/70886483/doesnt_work.jpg [ed. note: tombanator last edited this post 11 years, 10 months ago.]

            I don't know what's wrong, but here are a couple of guesses.

            First, I think you may have a character set problem. See this: http://bobsguides.com/convert-db-utf8.html. I don't think that script will work with the latest version of MODX, but it will if you remove the compound index it chokes on (you can restore it after you're done).

            Second, you should rename the ht.access file to .htaccess (if you haven't already), and uncomment either the code that forces a www URL or the code that forces a non-www URL. Without it, you can switch from www to non-www or vice versa during the course of a session. When that happens the session data is lost, which can cause all kinds of problems.
