Hello,
I am a non tech super beginner web designer using voyager to download my friends site, edit it in dreamweaver and then upload it to her site.
But, the previous webmaster just gave me her site name.com/manager...
How do I download and upload in voyager with that... I need the FTP site...
Anyone know what it would be or how to contact modscms????
Please do not post or contact me to help with a fee...
Thank you,
Burnie
Best place to start learning the MODx ways is at the main site:

I don’t understand well your question. By the way, what I understand (correct me if I’m wrong) is that the previous webmaster used MODx for your friend’s website, so he has given to you (new webmaster) the url to the MODx manager for that site. You’re correct, you do need also the FTP access, because MODx is:
files + db
You can manage everything from the manager, but still you need access to FTP of course (even if there’s a file manager built-in into MODx manager, it’s not so much comfortable to use).
Did you try connecting to an FTP account using your site as the host, and user/password like those you know to access the manager? (you *do* have the username/password for manager, right?)
I’ll charge 2 Heinekens for the website issues and a 6 pack for all ur personal errors and glitches.
