Bulk Update Resource

Hi everybody!

Is there any way to bulk update the resource type? I need to do so for around 250 resources, to change them to the Taxonomy resource type (from the Taxonomies extra).

Not that I know of; I'm pretty sure that Batcher doesn't do that, and it's as close as I am aware of. You probably would be best off using a query in phpMyAdmin.

I'm terrified of messing something up in phpMyAdmin. Would anyone be willing to tell me what I'd have to update for each resource?

What version of MODX?

According to its docs Taxonomies requires 2.3 or greater.

How are these resources organized? Are they within parent/container resources? Are you talking about 250 Taxonomy types, or some Taxonomy types and some Term types?

If you know what resource field(s) you want to update and you want to update all documents, you can just do something like this in a snippet:

Bob, he wants to change the resource type (class_key) from "modDocument" to "Taxonomy" - although the principle is much the same.

I think we're on to something here. How would we go about specifying a parent resource, where this snippet would only change the child documents in the specified parent resource?
