I’m doing this really big resource site for a voluntary organisation and currently it’s sitting in html format on my desktop - but I’m really close to uploading. There are (or could be) currently close to 600 pages of individual definitions linked to throughout the site and I’m looking at the best and most user friendly way of incorporating these definitions into the site.
My initial thought was to have them as individual pages sorted in separate folders
A - D, E - I ... etc. Then I though that it would probably be better to sort them alphabetically using definition lists in pages titled definitions a-d, e-i etc ... so each definition could then be hyperlinked like:
def_a-d.html#nameofdefinition.
But then I thought it would be really cool to have 2 ways of treating them -
1) a tooltip so a hover gives the definition and
2) they also have the option of clicking on either the hover or the definition word/link to go to the page to read it more clearly/fully.
Does anyone have any idea how I could do this? I’ve looked at the autolink module/plugin but I’m not sure I’m going to be able to achieve the above using this.
Does anyone have any other ideas about how I can manage this?
