PHP support

Hi,
I'm running a 1.0.0-RC1 MODx that was implemented by a developer who is no longer around.
Since my host is upgrading it's PHP server, it will no longer support PHP5.2, and suggested to upgrade to PHP5.4.
Can you tell me if my website will work or does the MODx needs an upgrade?
My version is 1.0.0-RC1, and code name "rev 5122".

If you are really on Evo 1.0.0-RC1, you could update to 1.0.15.
