Wjhat are the step to remove every trace of a MODx extra both from server and DB. I'm trying to reinstall but it seems trace of previous instal still exist. Thanks.

It really depends on the extra, but when installing, it often adds extra tables to the database. When uninstalling, it doesn't remove those tables. You also have to do the remove option to completely remove packages from your system.
I'm guessing you are seeing left over data from previously created tables. If you remove the package, delete the tables, then reinstall it should be fresh. The tables are usually fairly obviously named.
Which Extra are you trying to remove?

Some extras don't remove plugins or snippets, either. As matdave says, it depends on the extra. Articles, for example, is almost impossible to remove.
