The Template Variable tab from all my resource documents have suddenly disappeared. I'm in the process of updating site, adding new templates, but everything was live and working fine.

I cleared the cache in the manager and then cleared cache in browser.

I've obviously gone back and checked with the TVs that the relevant templates have permissions - yep. Back to the resource - no TV tab. I've created brand new template, new TV and a new resource and no TV tab.

Next up I went into phpMyAdmin and optimised and then repaired all tables in database - no joy.

All very strange. The existing TVs seem to be working - I've got a blog element, which each post is given a category and a tag via TVs and they are showing on the html pages and working. However, a third - a TVimage - display a little thumbnail isn't working - no URL in the html output. Which is how I noticed something was wrong!

The site is here http://www.djcdesign.co.uk - below the slideshow and intro text should be the latest blog posts and thumbs - but it's borked badly !

    Any ideas huh?

I'm running Rev 2.3.2 on PHP 5.3.29 CGI stable on gridserver at Media Temple

Check your permissions policy to make sure all permissions have been checked. Sometimes an upgrade will change some of the checkboxes. Also make sure your browser cache is cleared, since sometimes the browser will be using cached versions of the old javascript files.

        Hi Sottwell

Thanks for replying smiley Done all those and no joy.

One thing I checked this time, that I didn't before was within the templates themselves - and the tab that says 'Template Variables' and here on each of the templates there is nothing under the 'The template variables assigned to this template are listed below.' Despite going back to each TV and checking all the template boxes in the 'Template Access' tab.

I've had another look at the database via phpMyAdmin - in the table 'modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues' I can see all the TV's previous content and each of the TV's are here 'modx_site_tmplvars'

But when I check 'modx_site_tmplvar_access' - which i guess is where the access info is stored it is empty with zero rows !

        Thanks, David

Try repairing the relevant tables. Also delete the core/cache/ directory.

The site_tmplvar_access table is for protecting TVs, the same way resources are protected by being assigned to a resource group, so only users belonging to the associated user groups can access the TV. So that has nothing to do with your problem. The TVs tab for the template being all unchecked does seem very strange.

                Do you have BobRay's SiteCheck?

Did you change the Template of any pages?

Edit the Template in the Manager and check the Template Variables tab to see if the TVs are still connected to the Template.

Also, if you created any Element Category Access ACL entries, the TV's may not be available to certain users.

Update - I decided late last night to try a re-installation of Rev and that seemed to do the trick. All the TV tabs have returned to the Manager and templates are now linked to the TVs.

I'm completely guessing here, that one of the PHP files somehow got corrupted. Not really sure how, as I haven't altered any of the code this week. But all sorted !

Many thanks for your suggestions - I've been using ModX in its various forms for years now and always enjoyed it and found people helpful.

Have a great weekend and kind regards from Liverpool !
