Hi folks,
I have an issue with the file manager. I configured it form the manager to ../assets/files/. That works fine. Inside files is another folder called "protokolle". When I try to access this folder I get: Directory listing for:/ - Access denied!. After changing the path in the configuration I can access the "protokoll"-folder but nothing else. Everything is 777, so this can’t be the problem. I tried to set the path to "../" what should hit root, but that doesn’t work either.
Any ideas?

file_manager_path needs to be configured to an absolute path, not a relative path. I’m sure it has to be some odd consequence of using this relative path, though it’s hard to say exactly what without more knowledge of your platform, etc.

Path, not URL, as in /file/path/to/modx/fsr/ ...
Hi All,
This is cross posted elsewhere too. I’m using the contents of _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"] from phpinfo , but I also get the same response. This should be the correct path. Yes?
Here’s how I have it configured and its not working:
Tools/Configuration/Interface & Features
Resource path; _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]
Resource URL: /assets
Tools/Configuration/File Manager
File Manager Path: _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]
Security/Manager User/User:
File Manager Path: _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]
Resource path; _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"]
Resource URL: /assets
Thanks,
Marc

Put the actual path, like "/home/mydomain/public_html/assets" or whatever the path for your server would be.
I’m not literally using _SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"], but the same format as you suggest.
Marc
I was getting the same message on a locally hosted installation.
After reading the above I changed the file manager path from
var/www/mysite
to
var/www/mysite/assets
and all was ok after that
