Location Based Sidebar

Hello,

I’m working on a site that has a location based sidebar. A friend helped me build a flat file base system, but I need to convert it to modx now.

The system loads a default page lets say ID 10 in the sidebar... In the top of the sidebar there is a link to change your location this takes you to a map of FL and you just click your location.

When you click the location in the php version it goes to a cookie creation page and sends you back to the home page (you don’t really notice it more click you get cookie and sent to the home page) The sidebar is now changed to that location.

My question is how can I accomplish this in modx? Please spell it out some as my skills are mainly with design and not functionality coding...

Thanks

I can PM a demo site link if needed...
