Thanks for your response BoyRay, you pointed me a the right direction and when i dug down further into plugin 4 realised that it was xfpc, the caching module which i had forgotten was installed. Disabling that solved the problem and PageLocker is now working as i would expect. That is the second issue that i have solved with disabling or removing xfpc - i had an issue with swapping between http and https on another website, that again was a conflict with xfpc - should have learnt!

It would appear i spoke to soon! 24 hours later and we are back to square one again! Although you now have to login on each separate device, once you are logged on, it does not ask you for the password again, even when you close down the browser, shut down your machine and go back into the website? There appears to be little consistency between when it does display the password page, and when it doesn't. For example if i change the password, save changes and clear the cache, it doesn't always re-ask for the password, even though the password has changed. Any more ideas, things to try to tips?
Does clearing the browser cache and cookies change this behavior?

No, clearing the cache and deleting cookies makes no difference - it still doesn't re-ask you for a password when you close down and re-open the session.I was away last week, and when i came back to looking at this today, it re-asked me for the password on all devices, which was interesting, but perhaps because it has been over a week. I would expect the password only to be remembered in session and when i close the window, or tab, the user should be asked to enter the password again when they re-visit the website - is this your understanding too?
I thought it might be an issue with "Remember Me," but if clearing the cookies has no affect, apparently not. Yes, once the session is over, the user should have to log in again.
I can't think of anything else that would cause that unless you have a plugin connected to either the OnWebLogin or OnManagerLogin event.
