    It looks like you have two sets of quotes on your DB name.

    $dbase = ’`yoga_yoga`’;

    I found a forum entry that indicated there should be only one set.

    $dbase = ’yoga_yoga’;

    maybe?

      That depends... in the case of MODx making its default connection, it needs that. But some other connections don’t, and if the code is using the config.inc.php file it needs to strip the extra marks. I’m not sure exactly how it works out; it’s been a long time since I’ve run into that particular issue and I’ve forgotten how it goes.

        Here’s the reference to the double quote issue. I did remove the extra set early on. Not sure if this had any bearing on my problem since I had more than one problem.

        I just happened to run across it when I was searching on the error messages I was getting.

          well, even though I *thought* I tried that before, I must have had something else out of place, because, now, I have it working by removing the ` and just having ’yoga_yoga’ !

          So, thanks to everyone. Now I seem to have another issue with the database looking for PHx parser in my /var/www/yoga/assets..... path from my local server, but I’ll save that for another thread....

          thanks everyone.

            Changing that in the config file could cause you problems in many other places in MODx. Transform a copy of the value if you want in another variable (i.e. $mydbase = trim($dbase, ’`’); ), but do not remove it from the global variable used by MODx and assigned in config.inc.php. MODx expects those backticks to escape the name of the database.

              Just FYI. Although I have not had any problems with my site without the back ticks, following OpenGeek’s advise, I just added them back in to my config file.

              It didn’t seem to have any affect on my site. So I presume this was not a factor in my initial problems trying to move my site from local to a server. I’m sorry I sent us down the wrong path.

                I’ve been using MODx now for about six months. I’m building a site for myself as means to learn how to utilize all the amazing functionality that comes with it. I’m usually in over my head and muddling through, but definitely making progress. However, I have to admit moving/syncing/backing up still has me pretty much in the dark. . .

                I have a site on my server and local (wamp). I’ve been making updates to the server version and want to sync the two so I have a complete functioning backup locally. Here’s what I’ve done so far.

                Copied the assets folder from the server to my local wamp server.
                Exported the sql DB from the server and successfully imported it to my local DB.

                So far so good.

                I can login to MODx Manager and I can see all the correct folders, documents etc that have been added to the server.
                The home page comes up just fine and it contains the updates I’ve made.

                However, all the links from the menu produce: Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server.

                Can someone give me a clue?

                  A couple of additional notes.

                  Rewrite browser paths = yes
                  Friendly URLs = yes
                  Friendly alieases: = yes
                  Friendly alias path = no

                  If add the page name "services.html" to the url the page is not found
                  If add the page ID the page is not found

                      Have you renamed the ht.access file to .htaccess ?
                      Or did you FTP your old .htaccess file which may not have the correct base rewrite setting ?
                      If you disable FURL’s do the links work correctly ?
