I am using the brilliant ManagerManager to streamline the Manager interface for content editors on the current website I am working on. There is just two pieces of "noise" left - two TVs that are of no use to content editors (I have another 3 TVs that they do need to use).

I don’t think I can do it in ManagerManager, but is there a way I can select certain TVs to not be seen by certain editors when they are logged in to the back end?

I’m not sure, but you could try to write a plugin that is executed at one of the TV system events (e.g. OnTVFormPrerender). Or maybe OnDocFormRender.

Check if the current user has role x or user-id n, and try to hide it somehow (or at least disable the form).

Maybe download the Hide Editor plugin, install it under a different name, and hack away smiley

ok, I’ll keep it in mind for the future; my php skills are very close to zero, but I am working on it.

Create a manager group/document group, and assign your admin user to that group, but not the editors. Then assign the TVs to that group. Only members of that group will see the TVs.
