HELP Changed password and username doesnt work website gone

Hi I has someone create a website for me using modx and i only know a little bit about it. i couldnt login to the manager so I deleted the user of the database and recreated the user with the same name. the login failed and now my site is gone. the homepage says:

You never, ever mess with the ’mysql’ database. That controls all access to the entire mysql engine. And never use it for anything else.

To edit the MODx manager login, use the database you used to install MODx and edit the modx_manager_users table (if you used modx_ for the table prefix; substitute whatever prefix you used). When entering a password, select the MD5 function from the drop-down for the password field.
