Hi All,
I’ve been looking over my site and I’ve seen a certain page receive loads of hits. A couple of thousand. I’ve been trying to track it down to see how it is happening and so far the only trace I have is the IP address.
I decided to prevent site access from this IP for the time being via .htaccess.
I have slimstat running and the URL it advises of being hit is:
/ace-of-spades/assets/plugins/directresize/libs/highslide/assets/templates/Andreas02/assets/templates/Andreas02/assets/plugins/directresize/libs/highslide/assets/plugins/directresize/lang/assets/plugins/directresize/libs/highslide/assets/plugins/directres
I know the URL doesn’t end but I have seen in the stats that emo.js is also referred to.
I have the following plugins running on my site:
Email Obfuscation
DirectResize
PageHitCount
Error404Logger
What could be causing the continuous hits? Is there a better way of stopping re-occurrences?
Thanks all.

I think you’re right on the endless loop.
I can happily remove the 404 logger as I have Google Webmaster overseeing that side of things and AWStats from the host is rather good too.
Thanks for your input. I’ll check into mod_evasive to see if the host has it implemented or available.
