I set up MODx for a client a year ago, and now they want to move beyond text edits to photo edits. Only problem is, they can’t get photos to upload. Easy, JPG photos.

And for the life of me, I can’t figure out how/where to give it to them. I have them using QuickEdit and I know it shows up in there for them just like it does for me in the back end, they just keep getting "file format not valid" or some such. I can do it just fine, but they can’t. (I’ve watched them, they’re doing it right. I know it must be a setting I’ve got wrong somewhere. I just can’t find it!)

Where am I going wrong? I’m pulling my hair out and will appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction.

Check the user’s setting and see if the "System Configuration Setting" check box is selected. If it is not checked and the list is left blank no files types will be set. Also check that the file types are set in the site settings as well.

Ahh, perfect. I had wrongly assumed those permissions would be inherited by default.

        Thank you, CW!

Glad to help. The normally are set by default but there have been occasions that they mysteriously get unset.
