I've just installed Revo 2.3.1 but cannot download extras via package management - it just hangs with the download pop up box. I've tried reinstalling ModX and setting all appropriate directories to 777 but there's no change. Downloading packages on my other ModX sites is fine.

Theres nothing unusual about this new site or host - I've dine installs like this dozens of times before.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks!

Do you have curl enabled on that server? Did you check any logs?

Many others have reported this as being due to 2.3 running afoul of mod_security rules at the host. Your host should be able to fix it for you.

            Hey Bob!

So what does the host have to do?

They need to either modify their security rules, or disable mod_security altogether for your manager.

                Thanks Sottwell!
I contacted the provider and they fixed, everything works properly.
