Charset iso unsupported ?

what i do not understand, why i can t use accents in modx ?
the upgrade process should care those kind of things

I know its frustrating, but its not modx but rather the MySQL setup, if my suggestion is right, which we can't be sure without some checking.

It defaults to Latin/Swedish and is an equal opportunity pain in the butt for those who need other languages. Did you setup the original modx installation?

The way you can check is to check the tables on the old one and the new one, that would give you a lot of info. If they are the same then the problem would be different.

It would be nice if the upgrade process took this into account without a doubt. There could be technical reasons why it doesn't, but I am not sure.
