Will there be an improvement of the search function in this forum one day?
Search inside a subforum?
If I try to search "MODX version display in manager" (this is exactly the title of a topic of the MODX 2.3 Subforum, page 2 - which is not visible in the overview) the hits brought back are from around 2005 and pretty useless.

I've always used Google search instead:
site:forums.modx.com search term
Brings up the results you're probably actually looking for.
yup me too, most of the time just "modx searchterms"
I think I have used that searchbar only a hand full of times

I've used it twice that I can remember, and got nowhere both times. With a Google advanced search, you can even specify a time frame, so you can search for forum posts within the last six months, or whatever seems reasonable.
Yes google works great, and because there is really no way to get even close to google, there is little sense in developing the site search. Even with great effort, it could...be perhaps half as good as google.
Therefore have to wait until Google bot came by? A forum without a search possibility is pretty poor IMHO. A search inside a section already would be a great improvement.
Goggle is usually less than a day behind.

In searching the Forums, I would almost never need something posted less than a day ago.
That would be fine with me.
The forum is undergoing a lot of revamping and improvements at this time. I do believe they will all be rolled out together. So for now, I guess good old google will have to do rather than a convenient field.
