Hello,
I have a short question: is this possible to count clicks on text "read more..." in my blog articles ?
Thanks!
Old post... but same question here!
I' like to count how often an Article is clicked.
Is that for analytics purposes or to be used for some sort of popularity mechanism? What's the behaviour when the link is clicked - does it go to a new page, fire off an AJAX request, or perhaps show a hidden content panel?
I simply want to count how often an Article is loaded/clicked.
In the meantime I found a plugin in the MODx extensions repo called "HitsPage" which does exactly what I need! If a user loads a resource in the frontend, a TV with a counter is updated. You then can display how often a page was opened. (and you also could create a list of popular articles)
The problem is this plugin is buggy.
I think I'll try to write a snippet for my self.
Why won't you just go with Google Analytics? You can rely on it better then a click-event or pageload
I would also go with Google Analytics, you'll have a lot more useful information that way too.
