A VPS should do the job, for two sites. Your biggest issue will be sufficient memory. I'd be inclined to go with their second level.
However, for about the same price, you can have a MODX Cloud account with two production sites plus development sites.
Could you elaborate on the website(s) to be hosted, and the amount of traffic they receive? I'm not familiar with that provider, but looking at their plans you might need to step up a level or two.
Their servers do look unmanaged, meaning you are responsible for most of the day to day administration. If you are coming from shared hosting with no server management experience that could be a little shocking. It also looks like most of the common items are extra, and hardly inexpensive.

I had initiated a chat on MilesWeb.com to know more about their VPS hosting plan. All the VPS packages they offer are fully managed, we don't have to pay additional for the technical support. They are available 24/7 on live chat, email and phone. They have recommended me to start with the second package, they offer offsite backup solution as well. Along with Modx, the two other websites I would be hosting are completely new. One would be my wp blog and the other is my friends company website. His website has around 20 pages with image gallery consisting of 10 - 12 images of his office. Traffic on both these websites would be very less like few hundred visitors in a month.
