2.3.1 Upgrade Manager Top Menu Missing

Just done an upgrade to 2.3.1.

I've got the Modx logo and search box on the top bar of admin but no other options. I have got the resource / elements / files tree.

Can anybody give me some pointers?

Try turning off compress_js and compress_css via the system_settings via php my admin ( change from 1 to 0 )

Thanks Paul but I've tried that as well as emptying core/cache and clearing browser cache.

Just some more information:

If I add the 'correct' path to the config.core.php files in root, manager and connectors I get a 503 error in the front end and 'Site temporarily unavailable' in the admin.

If I remove these paths the site works as does the admin apart from the Top Menu.

Can you try uploading the files again, it sounds like you might have a corrupt file from your previous upgrade.

Did you also clear your browser cookies? A leftover cookie can cause all kinds of weirdness in the Manager after an upgrade (you can try an incognito or private window in the browser to check).

I used SSH to carry out the upgrade to minimise the likelihood of corruption / missing files.

I cleared cache and deleted cookies on 3 different browsers and also used privacy in Safari.

I ran set up 3 pr 4 times. I looked at the source for the manager page and it's not a case of the top menu being hidden - it's just not being generated.

If you turn on something like Chrome Dev. tools, do you see anything useful on the network tab, or any JS errors?

What hosting service are you using?

Hi Bob - due to time constraints I've had revert back to my previous version.

It's shared hosting with 1and1.

I did look for js errors whilst logged in to the admin and there was one thing - I don't recall the exact details but it was something to do with FileAPI. I checked to see if all js files were loading and couldn't see anything wrong there.

It's possible that MODX is consuming too many resources, and 1&1 is hard limiting your account. I would check for the errors as Bob noted above when/if you do decide to try again.
