We are in the process of launching an updated and redesigned website using MODX Revolution 2.2.14-pl we need to attempt to migrate a number (700 pages) from our old site which uses MODX 1.0.5
Not having had much experience using Modx i need some advice on the best way to go about this. Also the new site is not going to have as many pages on it and so we need to create forwards on the .htaccess file. To do this i need a list of all the pages on the old site, the page title and the URL. Can anyone suggest how to do this?
Also when actually copying across content is there a good way to do this? As chunks/page id's will be different on the new site.
Thanks.

You can use Wayfinder to create a site map. Just use a different tpl.
As far as importing from Evo into Revo, there is Provisioner. It has limitations, but it can be helpful.

The method we have used to convert sites is doing a 1:1 conversions of the resources/chunks. This maintains the page IDs, minimizing your initial work. Once the site is converted you can then rearrange pages, remove pages, or do whatever else you want to the site. It makes for a far smoother transition in the long run.
Additionally, with the new redirector it will detect and generate the necessary redirects for you based on the changes you make post conversion. You can also use pdoSitemap/GoogleSiteMap for the actual conversion.
I've been working on a conversion utility that will run on MODX 2.3 and any version of Evo back to 0.9.1. It does exactly what you're suggesting (leaving all the IDs intact). Dealing with Web Users and Manager users (who can have duplicate IDs) is a pain.
Have you solved the problem of letting users log in with their Evo passwords? I have a solution, but it will be unpleasant to implement.
