Is there a built-in way for me to limit the templates that a user sees in the drop down list when creating/editing a resource? I have a number of different templates and some are irrelevant for most of my users.
It doesn't seem to work with granting access to element categories.
Any thoughts? Looking for something that will work with 2.2 and 2.3.
Trying to avoid working out my own plugin solution.

Using Element Category ACL entries really should do it. The templates go in a Category and the Element Category ACL entry connects that Category to a User Group the use it not a member of.
Be sure to flush permissions and sessions after making the change and visit from a different browser where you're not logged in to the Manager.
