Answered Unable to use blank alias for Articles since last update.

On my site, my Articles page is set to use a blank alias, so friendly URLs read mysite.com/2014/08/19/article-alias... However since the last update to Articles, I've noticed the alias field showing 'articles', it auto-generates if I delete the text and save (I've tried turning auto alias generating off in system settings, but no luck).

This is now creating friendly URLs such as mysite.com/articles/2014/... which is not ideal. Has anyone else noticed this/found a solution?

Articles has a setting to control the alias format, though I'm not sure where it is or if it will solve your problem.

Yea, there's a systems setting called 'Articles FURL IDs' with a value of ,3:arc_ not sure what that represents, though my Articles resource has id 3.

I don't have the current version of Articles, but on mine, you can get to the setting I was referring to this way: Right-click on Manage Articles, and on the Advanced Settings tab, scroll to the bottom and check the Articles URL Format setting.

Unfortunately that only lets me control the format of the alias structure of the article following the parent resource. It's set to year/month/day/article-alias which gets appended to the unwanted 'articles' alias.

I feel like there is something in the Articles source that is auto generating the parent alias on save - BobRay do you know where this would be located?
