Revo 2.3.1
NewsPublisher 1.4.2-pl
TinyMCE 4.3.3-pl
When using the "Insert/Edit Image" tool, and clicking the "Browse" icon, instead of getting the file browser it pops up one of the Extras CMP views - in this case, the Collection views.
The user in this case has very limited Manager permissions, and should not even be able to see this part of the Manager. However, the URL /manager/?a=1&namespace=collections is visible for this user. From there, he is able to use the visible Media menu option.
If the user goes directly into the Manager to edit his permitted resource, /manager/?a=resource/update&id=7, the TinyMCE button and icon work as expected.

Getting the image browser to work in the front end for NewsPublisher was quite a challenge, and I didn't write the code for it. I do know that the user has to have the file_manager permission.
It's possible that the action ID for the file browser is hard-coded somewhere in NewsPublisher and is no longer correct. Are you seeing an action ID in the URL, and if so what is it?
