In an attempt to setup SSL for my website I am no longer able to access MODx manager. I uploaded the revossl package http://modx.com/extras/package/revossl to my server and began to setup the TV but somewhere in the process the manager became inaccessible.

When I type the manager url into a browser it redirects back the home page.

I experimented modifying my htaccess file without success. Also, I've tried deleting the core/cache files and clearing by browser cache. I ran into issues deleting the core cache files as they seem to regenerate immediately and i cannot delete directories without clearing out all files in the dirs first. I'm stumped. Can anyone help shed some light on this?

I had to clear the package settings in the database to access the manager.

I'm glad you got it sorted, but for others with the same problem, could you report which package, which settings, and which table they are in?
