Problem with special characters in eForm

Hi, I'm having some difficulty with fixing a problem with special characters in sent e-mails.
All special characters (é, ë, ê,...) are replaced by a question mark
Already tried phx, onBeforeMailSent snippet, and changing the charset in phpmailer class but nothing seems to work, or I'm doing something wrong.
Any ideas how to fix this?
