I realize this is going to sound, hmmm, possibly ticky-tack? Overly demanding? smiley

I love 2.3.1. Fantastic update to the core, love the new manager style.

    Except . . . .

In 2.2.8, when you hit CTRL+S to save a resource / chunk, etc., you could immediately hit SHIFT+TAB to move the cursor back into the main editing panel.

Now when you save / hit CTRL+S, you either have to click your mouse back into the window, or hit SHIFT+TAB seven times to cycle back through the Help! / Close / View / Delete / Duplicate / Save buttons to re-orient back to the main editing window.

As a constant content creator, I loved being able to just type CTRL+S, hit SHIFT+TAB, and keep editing. It's a small thing, but it's one of those little workflow things I find I really miss.

I'm not a coder by any stretch, but is there any way to fix this to go to the old behavior? I'm certain it has something to do with the tab-ordering of the fields / frames. [ed. note: felonius last edited this post 12 years, 1 month ago.]

I assume that would require a focus setting put in the Extjs manager code. I know nothing of Extjs but it might be worth putting in a feature request over on Github: https://github.com/modxcms/revolution

It may just possibly have been an oversight in the new manager design.

I hadn't noticed this but now that you mention it, that's a bit annoying. What should happen IMO is that the last field with focus before the save should have focus after the save. It should not assume the field that had focus but store it and reactivated it upon completion of the save action. This would be better than having to tab order reverse or forward through the fields.

I seem to recall that it did have focus. It still catches me out all the time, I save, go look at the front-end in another tab, come back and while I still see the cursor in the editing field, it doesn't have focus. Where it's really annoying is if I want to delete where the cursor is, and hit "delete" without making sure the field has the focus - the browser takes me to the previous page!
