Upgrading to 1.0.14

Hi, hope someone can help.

I a few instances where im having to upgrade to 1.0.14 because of malicious spamming problems on the server, im having trouble upgrading.

When uploading the upgrade files to the server and then visiting the www.mypage.com/install, the version showing isnt 1.0.14 but the current version installed. Ive gone through the install process however but when the manager loads the document pages are blank and dont load?

Is there any process to best follow when doing the upgrades?

I use the below script which get's the files from modx and extracts them on the server which eliminates any FTP errors and also means you don't have to waste time uploading them, just upload the install.php to the server and run it from the browser ( www.yoursite.com/install.php )

To upgrade you can use that install.php file indeed.

But I think it won't fix your spamming problems just to upgrade.
You really have to search for infected .php files and clean it up good (if you didn't already done that).
(ajaxsearch / forgot manager login / evogallery)

And keeping old versions of the not(yet) infected sites won't be that smart.
You really should upgrade them all..

I am indeed going through a process of identifying the files that need cleaned/deleted but this is a great help for the installer file

Folders like tinymce really have too many files and folders to check and needs to be deleted and a new version uploaded. I always delete all plugins, snippets and modules and reinstall modx. Check all other folders and add what stuff is missing and upload that again. :-o

Updating (or overwriting the same version) this way should reduce the file checks to folders that are not in MODX core (TinyMCE is a core plugin) and not in repositories extras.
