Hi, I have some downloadable files with links in the format of:

    http://www.myweb.com/download/somefile.doc

However, MODX incorrectly interprets this as a page and produces the error "page not found (404)", instead of causing the browser to download the file.

How do I excempt such links from being interpreted by MODX as a friendly URL?

    thanks.

it’s really strange, never happened to me it shouldn’t rewrite existing files... did you change the default .htaccess in some way ?

Dumb question but just to make sure : those files are hosted on your server / MODx install or is it an external link ?

Sorry for the trouble, i had an error on my URL links, that’s why it’s producing error 404.

        it’s okay now.

        Thanks anyway! laugh
