Addendum: In the meantime it's clear Connectors are NOT deprecated in Revo 2.3

I just built a small CMP for Revo 2.3+ using only the new "methods" (so 2.2.x isn't supported in this add-on). The CMP works fine with only the namespace + menu + the Controller in

    {core_path}components/mycmp/controllers/default/index.class.php

If I understand right, the usage of Connectors is deprecated so how does the system find the appropriate Processors?

    xtype: 'modx-tree'
    ,id: 'mycmp-tree-usergroups'
,url: MyCmp.config.connectorUrl // <-- how is this handled ion Revo 2.3+
    ,action: 'mgr/usergroups/getUserGroupNodes'
    ,autoHeight: false
    ,height: 380
    ,root_id: 'n_ug_0'
    ,root_name: _('mycmp.usergroups')
    ,rootVisible: true
    ,enableDD: false
    ,ddAppendOnly: true
    ,useDefaultToolbar: true
    ,stateful: false
    ,collapsed: false

The tutorial of Susan Ottwell only mentions the new Controller files handling:
    http://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/developing-in-modx/advanced-development/custom-manager-pages/custom-manager-pages-in-2.3

All other tutorials only describe the old deprecated methods.

    Thanks in advance,
    Martin

Connectors are not deprecated. There's just a whole lot less of them in the core. For 3PCs you're still expected to have your own connector, and link to it as per your example. (That said, there is an open issue on github with an idea for making it possible to use the core connector for third party processors as well, but that's not implemented and was hitting some challenges)

You might be mixing connectors up with modAction objects; those are deprecated, but that's still backwards compatible. In 2.3 you just skip creating actions, pass your modMenu the actual route instead ("home" for example, or "some/folder/with/more") and assign it your namespace. MODX will then figure out where your controllers are on its own. You no longer need an index controller either.

Mark, thanks for your answer! Don't know why I thought connectors are deprecated...
The idea of using the core connector for CMPs is interesting!
