Hi all, I have designed my own portfolio and am making it into a MODX site now.
All is going well, I have the CSS ready, the DIV's in place without errors, and created everything I need for the 'project' page.
The title and content is loading into the page correctly and when I load the project page, it only shows what needs to be shown.
However, there is one thing I don't understand/manage to get right.
Essentially what I have is a template page with 3 DIV's:
1 for the title of the work and a description of the work
1 for the images of the work, these can be just one or more underneath eachother
1 for the container of this
Now what I do is, I put the project project (title and description) in a source underneath a parent page, so that I can select only projects and aggregate them in the project page.
What I don't understand is this: Is there a way of adding a module so that I can add images to the source page in a separate input field, which gives the option to add multiple images with multiple descriptions?
I can't put project description text and image in the same field as I want all the inputs to be separate so that I can output them into the different DIV's.
There must be something to achieve this, that I am simply not aware of. I hope anyone can guide me into the direction of finding out.
Thanks for your time of reading and helping out others,
Marinus

I would recommend looking into Assets Manager: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPOBgHL--MM
You could assign Template Variables for your template. That means you get extra fields to edit for each resource. I never use more than one template and let a snippet structure the html tags depending on parent values etc.
// For large number of projects to aggregate, TV's are slow in MODX Revolution and this is worth reading:

I've been trying out Gallery and Assets Manager now, both don't work, I am lost. I feel like it's MODX 2.3.1 doing this. Ever since I have updated from 2.2x to 2.3 and 2.3.1 nothing has been working for me and this has literally cost me days... It all works to a certain extent, that it looks ok, buttons work, but then when you really want to use it, it gives all kinds of errors and bugs.
Contacted the Assets Manager designers with my problems, as there is a problem of it not finding the path somehow. Also the phpthumb problems have not been solved yet...

In MODX 2:
REVOLUTION phpThumb is integrated into the core and Media Browser. So unless you get the "Assets Manager" to work, it's what you get to work with. In MODX 2.3.1 an issue was fixed regarding the thumbnails was showing as broken links.
What is the error log showing? Maybe install fresh and check out the "Import site from HTML" function?

...I
hate phpThumb!
This is my approach for image galleries in MODX 1:
EVOLUTION:

Basically I set up multiple TVs (30+ divided in tabs) and make use of the generated thumbnails EVO Media browser (KCFinder) automatically generates on upload for both mgr previews and front-end listings. >

Using Pixtulate Image API I can allow the site users to do whatever hi-res image resizing they want without phpThumb killing my server...
