    Edit: I should mention that the site was running fine for a week. Then this. I did not change any of the config files.

    On the front end getting:
    « MODx Parse Error »

    MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « Failed to select the database 'modx'! »

    Parser timing
      MySQL:	0.0000 s	(0 Requests)
      PHP:	0.0377 s
      Total:	0.0377 s
    Error while inserting event log into database.

    When trying to log into the manager I am getting the log in screen but when I enter the username and password I get this in the pop-up:
    <br />
    <b>Warning</b>: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in <b>/hermes/web10/b833/moo.vantagepoint/manager/includes/settings.inc.php</b> on line <b>10</b><br />
    <br />
    <b>Warning</b>: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in <b>/hermes/web10/b833/moo.vantagepoint/manager/includes/settings.inc.php</b> on line <b>11</b><br />
    <br />
    <b>Warning</b>: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in <b>/hermes/web10/b833/moo.vantagepoint/manager/processors/login.processor.php</b> on line <b>72</b><br />
    Incorrect username or password entered!

    Running:

    Server Platform: Debian
    MySQL Version: 5.0.45
    PHP Version: 5.2.2

    Help please!

      Best guess is there’s something wrong in your manager/includes/config.inc.php file.
      Mine looks like this:
      <?php
      /**
       *	MODx Configuration file
       */
      $database_type = 'mysql';
      $database_server = 'localhost';
      $database_user = 'myname';
      $database_password = 'mypassword';
      $database_connection_charset = 'latin1';
      $dbase = '`nameofdatabase`';
      $table_prefix = 'modx_';

        That is what the beginning of mine looks like as well.

          Your site was back up a minute ago, then down again.
          Could be your host having issues with their MySQL service.

                It looks like this this the case. I have alerted my host and they "seem" to be working on it.

                Thanks Bunk!
