I have created a new user in MODX REVOLUTION, but for some reason, that user is not able to login under the username and password created. No activation email was sent either. Is this pretty common? Any help? Thanks
I've only seen this if the password contains certain punctuation marks or if the user is not a member of a User Group that has been granted access to where they're headed (the Manager or the front end).
thanks for your answer, but the password is a very simple 8letter word and I've tried to put the user in all available User groups - strangely though, when the password is entered incorrectly, I get the wrong password error message, but when it is entered correctly - nothing happens to the page....
I've only seen that symptom when no users can log in.
Try deleting all files in the core cache directory and clearing your browser cache and cookies.
I've done all that but no success....
When I look at the user's settings, the number of logins says 11...
Check the user's role in the groups. Is it the same as the role of other members who can log in?
I just bumped into this problem and found that when I let MODX create the password, I could not log in with the new username and password. However if I specified the password, I could log in no problem. Looks to me like a bug in that particular usage case.
