Modx don´t show files in folders.

Hi there. I´ve this problem, i migrate a website to a GoDaddy server , everything works great, but i can´t see files in folders, Media sources and Filesystem.

Hm. First time I've heard of anybody migrating TO a GoDaddy server. How did you do the migration? Using a single .zip file and unzipping it on the server is recommended, as uploading all of MODX's files via FTP will often end up with one or more of its files corrupted or missing altogether.

In any case, did you run the same version's setup in upgrade mode?

Find out what group your user belongs to, then look at that group to see what Policy it is using. Then check that Policy to make sure that the permissions for working with files are all checked.

In fact it wasn´t my decision, i made this job for a designer, and when i came back from holidays they ask for change the server because of mail problems...

When i move the site, i follow all the steps: disabled friendly urls, clear cache ( from manager and from folder ), backup database, backup site files, change config files, then create the new db and imported the data, upload the site in a .zip file and uncompress in the server, i uploaded a setup folder same version as the used, run setup as upgrade, everything works fine untill i see this issue.

Never happend this before, can´t see the files from media sources or FileSystem.

Check the config.inc.php file to make sure that it's all pointing to the correct file path and URL.

Check the file and directory permissions to make sure they are readable by the web server/PHP user.

All config files looks good, folders and files have 755 permissions. Error log empty. Media sources are ok.

Ah, the migration was from GoDaddy to another server, i made a mistake. In godaddy worked fine.

Maybe this helps: Media Browser shows all the folders tree, not the files. Attach screenshot.

The designer when he try to migrate the site, upload to the new server the php.ini file from the old server to the new one ( he doesn´t even know what this file is ) and maybe this file messed up the server. It´s the only thing that could happen, i check all the posibilities and everything is fine, and the site in the previous server works great, and this issue don´t seems to happen to another modx user and never happen to me before ...

It could mess up the server, but once you remove it or rename it everything should go back to normal.

Did you check the Policy for the user group involved, and make sure that it has all the file handling permissions checked?

Yes, it happens too in the administrator usergroup ( 172 of 172 ).

Use FTP or a server control panel (or ls -l with a shell) and make sure the files are all readable by the web server user, or the owner of the rest of the files and directories if you're using some kind of su_exec. The files should at least be something like 644

The 4 means readable, +2 = 6 means writable and readable, add 1 to it and it means executable, in the case of folders that they can be opened. The first number is for the file's owner, the second is for everybody in the owner's group, and the third number is for everybody, or "world", as in "world-readable" or "world-writable".
