Answered Members pages

Hi I am new to MODX and PHP I basically used to code ASP and inhertited this MODX site.

We are currently using Revolution 2.2.6

We wish to create a number of member generated pages so each member needs to be able to login add some text and upload images, we then need a specific page for each member that displays their images etc. What's is the best way to do this, keep it simple and treat me like an idiot and we should be fine, I do struggle with MODX amoungst other things ;-)

Had some bad experiences upgrading to new versions is version 2.2.15 stable and should i expect any problems or any incompatibility with addons?

Shouldn't be a problem if you do it "by the book".

Particularly, do not extract the zip locally, then upload the files. Upload the zip, then extract on the server and move files and directories as necessary.

On a few occasions I've found it necessary to re-install an addon or two, but not with versions as close together as this.

LOL. I forgot that I created that page.

Hi BobRay I have been working my way through you page and it seems very informative I did get a little lost in places but hopefully it will all come good in the end

Well that pretty much does what I want I just need to tidy up the CP area to make it very basic for users and I do need to add the ability for users to upload images any help on that?

There are several file upload extras you can use. I think if you create File or Image TVs for the images, you could also use NewsPublisher and have it show just those fields.

Thx for that bob but it means nothing to me, I best get on google I guess

Even better, get Bob's book. http://modx.com/learn/modx-books/modx-the-official-guide/
