Ok this seemed to work fine. I didn't try to use the strip tags yet. The receiving site will probably control tags and styling themselves, so stripping may not be necessary but on the other hand probably doesn't hurt.
If you strip the tags, you can use :filter (which is much faster) without breaking the design, though you'll have no styling at all for the content.
Ok I will play around with it and put my final solution in Discuss section. FB is seemingly quite a different beast as well, using meta tags and og : code.
Discuss2 apparently will have each post in a resource in the tree, and SEO could be one reason for that. Because the normal meta code we use for the page title, site name, description and so on isn't available here. I tried putting the meta code in this particular template, but I suspect its being stripped out.
But, this solution when finished will probably be able to be adjusted for Discuss2, still need the codes in the buttons and all. Just where the data is grabbed from could be different.
