And why does MODx need it?

My shared server has just been updated and the MODx site has fallen over - error log shows this repeatedly...

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20100525/suhosin.so' - /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20100525/suhosin.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

    Anyone know of a fix?????

P.S. PHP was upgraded to 5.4.30

Loads of core functions not working on the front-end and when I attempt to view the manager I get a pure white page.... something major not right! [ed. note: dubbs last edited this post 12 years, 3 months ago.]

        Is this Revo or Evo?

Not sure. MODX Cloud is running the latest versions of php 5.4. I've asked the team if they've had any issues related to older versions of revo 2.2 but I've not. What happens if you delete the /core/cache/ contents? If paths have been updated, this could cause problems too.

This is an environment issue with PHP startup not being able to find an extension that it is configured to load. You need to work with your hosting company to resolve the problem—unfortunately there is nothing MODX can do to address this.

Jason - can you advise what I need to ask the hosting company to do to sort this please? I am not sure of what is missing and needs to be moved etc... Thanks

If your hosting company can't see what's wrong with just that error message, perhaps you need a new host.

It would appear the suhosin module called for in the php.ini file is no longer where it used to be for the previous PHP version. They either need to relocate and update the path or comment out the module inclusion line from the php.ini.
