HI all,
I’ve got a strange issue happening with one of the Modx sites I manage.
The manager pages all are running painfully slowly. Average load time on a page in the manager is over 30 seconds. This is for anything. From simply displaying a page in the manager, to saving changed settings, to opening a page for editing.
However.....the site itself runs fine. No problems. When you visit the site. The pages display just fine. Average load time is about 2-4 seconds per page.
Now the "really" strange page. If you try to preview a page in the manager...you guessed it....slow.
I’m really baffled here. This problem is occuring for several different users...all in different parts of the US and on completely different ISPs.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this? Even just suggestions on what I might try would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

What’s your MODx version, server configuration and plugins/modules installed? What shows up in your event log and manager log?

Modx version is: 0.9.6.1
It’s a standard install...nothing custom or any additional plugin/modules other than what comes in the standard install.
PHP version is: 4.4.7
MySQL version is: 5.0.45
I did find the error log full of the following errors:
PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hermes/bosweb/web006/b67/sl.classof2k8/public_html/manager/includes/user_settings.inc.php on line 19
PHP Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hermes/bosweb/web006/b67/sl.classof2k8/public_html/manager/includes/user_settings.inc.php on line 17
It’s pretty full of these same errors...over and over again.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can provide any additional information.
Thanks!
Justin

Take a look in the System Event log in the modx manager, this will often point to the problem.
If the logs are very full, clear them. This could slow down the manager but does not explain the php errors.
