    Hi everyone,

I’ve set up MODx for a client, and everything is working fine on several PCs I’ve used for testing and setup. I went to provide training on the CMS to the client the other day, and we encountered the following issue:

When you click on the Image Edit/Add within the WYSIWYG editor and navigate to the images folder to choose an image, no images appear. I’ve checked in the "Manage Folders" area and all the images are present and correct, but they’re just not appearing in this view?

We also found the CMS to be very sluggish on the client’s PC, something which I’ve never had a problem with. The client’s laptop is a brand new Dell, running Vista, IE7 and Norton 360 Security.

Has anyone had this issue previously and if so know what the problem is?

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Tony

I think it’ll help to know which editor you are using, FCKeditor or TinyMCE and which version. also what permissions you have on the images folder?

as for the sluggish on the client’s PC, first its a Dell smiley then Vista, and on top of that you are running Norton 360?!
personally I don’t like any of them, but since that doesn’t helpful much to you I’ll start with disabling Norton which in my experience is known to slow things down. just a test to see if this is the problem and take it from there.

        Hi Sinbad,

I totally agree - I don’t like Vista or Norton 360, but this is what I am having to work with.

        FYI - we’re running TinyMCE, Version: 2.1.2 (2007-08-21).
Permission on the images folder is: 777
Permissions on the sub-folders is: 755

I have no problem using MODx on my PC and have found no bugs whatsoever, so it must be something to do with the client’s PC or how they have set up their browser?

I’ll try to and test the client’s PC this week and get back to everyone, but if anyone knows of anything else I can test/try out then please let me know!

        Thanks,
        Tony

Tony, sounds like a similar problem to what I was having in this thread: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24453.0.html

Manager Users can have individual file types allowed for their view/upload via the FCKEditor popup, and this was causing the users of a recent client site I worked on not being able to see or upload anything when using the TinyMCE or FCKEditor to add images smiley

            Hi Andrew,

thanks for the tip-off, I’m hopefully getting the client’s laptop to test next week so I’ll investigate this and get back to everyone with any findings.

            Thanks again,

            Tony
