I’m about to roll out a job listing site using only MODx myself. My approach would be to use Documents as the job listings (displayed with Ditto), and create a new group(s) in MODx that would allow for posting and another for viewing, along with the rest of the details xpix described for the Admin, Coordinator, & Frontend. At least that’s what I have planned, so far.
The listings could be separated into categories, and could even be searchable through the tvExplorer snippet. The catch I have to deal with is it’s a paid subscription site. Here’s some of the details about that part.
- The listings are posted by a group that pays one amount and the jobs are viewed by a group that pays another amount.
- The jobs will be listed for 2 weeks.
- Subscriptions will be monthly.
- Subscribers will sign up and pay through a MODx shopping cart.
So, xpix, why would you not just do this directly from MODx? I agree, though, it would be awesome if there were a snippet or plugin that already did this!
