    I’ve installed Modx numerous times on different hosting platforms and never had any trouble. Yesterday I tried to install it for a client and everything during installation went well, but when I tried to access the manager I got the following error:

    Warning: include_once(quotes_stripper.inc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/jail/home/j/sitename/htdocs/manager/index.php on line 90

    Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening 'quotes_stripper.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='/home/j/sitename:/usr/local/lib/php:.') in /usr/jail/home/j/sitename/htdocs/manager/index.php on line 90

    Warning: include_once(config.inc.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/jail/home/j/sitename/htdocs/manager/index.php on line 127

    Fatal error: Class 'DocumentParser' not found in /usr/jail/home/j/sitename/htdocs/manager/index.php on line 131

    I’m not good at php, but I think this may be related to a wrong base path in the config file. Line 90 is the first include of the manager’s index.php.

    I’m using the latest release of ModX - 0.9.6.1 P2

    Some server specs:
    FreeBSD
    Php 5.2.5
    Safe_mode is off

    Am I right about the path issue? I searched the forums and the only hit I got was an unanswered post in the Russian subforum.

      Are you hosting at MediaTemple?

      In any case it seems that the include_path is looking in the wrong directory:
      include_path='/home/j/sitename:/usr/local/lib/php:.'
      It is trying to include a file from the wrong location. This can be a php configuration issue.

        No it’s not MT.

        Is there a way I can override the path by a setting in config.inc.php or something like that?

          Maybe with .htaccess or in the php.ini file. I don’t think that the paths are set in the config file, these seem to be dynamically generated.

          DO the errors only show when accessing the manager? Does the front-end site work as expected?

            What is this path that it is actually looking in: /usr/jail/ ?

            That’s the problem; it’s not even looking in the include path; seems everything is getting prefixed with /usr/jail/...

              OpenGeek, you are right. That’s exactly what happened. It seems like a php setting that is too strict or something.

              Thanks for your help dev_cw and OpenGeek. I’ll leave this to the hosting party from this point.
