This seems to me to be an IIS issue, but I am IIS illiterate so I could be way off. As far as I know the authentication prompt should not show, you should be redirected to your site’s login page rather than the prompt showing up.
Hi there,
More info: Another site running MODx 0.9.2.2 on the same box has no problems and does not display this problem.
Any of my sites running: 0.9.6 seem to have this problem.
Did you guys change the security code that checks if a page is in a Document Group in 0.9.6?
It does not really look like an IIS configuration issue if 0.9.2.2 is fine, as is an even older version on the same machine.
Thanx
Justin
I have a 0.9.6 site on an IIS server, the only time I get that prompt is for a password protected folder I set up.
I’ve done that before also, and that is the expected behaviour, however WebLogin triggering that prompt is odd. The site has annoymous access, so there should be no problems with hitting a url, and leaving php to decide what happens the user?
Is the presentations page the login page or the private page?
If it is the private page then trying to access it should redirect to the login page. I am guessing here, but maybe if the private page and the login page are the same it could be causing this issue.
Just curious, if you go the other way around, login first then go to presentation, will it work?
OK, so we can narrow it down to that specific page. Here is what I think we know:
1) It is not an issue with WebLogin - this seems to work
2) It is not a redirect problem - after logging in it tries to redirect
Could there be a custom snippet on that page that is causing the problem or a request to a protected document?
Have you tried to protect another page in the same way to see if it is isolated to this one page?
