MigX and @INHERIT

Will a migx TV inherit?

I ask because I'm dealing with a resource hierarchy containing the following:

Home
Product

I have a migx with the default value set to @INHERIT, and use a getImageList to select a particular image in the set. Then I set the values for use within the home page. Doing this, the home page renders nicely, but the image in question gets left blank when rendering the product page. Is there any issue with using an inherit binding here and/or am I missing something to get this working properly?

I found a post (https://forums.modx.com/thread/87059/inherit-with-migx#dis-post-500199) that offers some insight. So it seems that migx can't really handle the normal inherit mechanism, and other ways need to be employed. (Perhaps the comment by alain-hki is the way to go?)

there are several ways.
You can try to use ultimateParent in the &docid - property to get inherited MIGX - items

I don't think, there is an example with getImageList, but I think there should be some with wayfinder.

To get the MIGX-items of the parent at top-level this should do it:

[[getImageList?
&docid=`[[UltimateParent]]`
&tvname=`yourmigxtv`
&tpl=`yourtpl`
]]
